Shiatsu Society of Ontario The Shiatsu Society of Ontario is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing: assistance in obtaining municipal licensing; professional and personal growth opportunities through participation in the SSO and the growing Shiatsu community; a membership directory; representation of the interests, rights and professional standards of Shiatsu therapists; and access to affordable, professional liability insurance coverage, provided by Preventative Health Services. Regulation is on the horizon. Shiatsu is at risk of being included as a subsection of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), or as a branch of massage therapy, rather than as a distinct branch of Asian medicine in its own right. We are inspired and excited to be working together to unify Shiatsu therapists of all styles, and to accomplish the common goal of self-regulating Shiatsu in Ontario.Become part of our active and growing community by applying for SSO membership.
